Swing trading funded account with NextGen Funding

In short: A swing account from NextGen Funding lets you hold trades overnight and over the weekend, ideal for swing traders. Trade a Simulated Funded Account up to $200,000, keep up to a 90% profit split, and use EAs, with payouts within 24 to 48 hours. There is no time limit and the drawdown is static and balance based, so a multi-day position never tightens your loss limit. NextGen Funding is backed by the multi regulated broker Errante.

A swing account suits traders who hold positions for days or across weekends rather than closing intraday. With NextGen Funding you may hold over the weekend (swaps apply) and there is no time limit, so your swing setups have room to play out.

Every swing account is a Simulated Funded Account on MetaTrader 5 with real market quotes, backed by the multi regulated broker Errante. Pass one of three evaluations, keep up to 90% of your profit, and use Expert Advisors to automate your strategy.

Clear your evaluation within the drawdown rules. Standard and Rapid are two phase; Ace is a single phase.

Trade & Earn

Trade your Simulated Funded Account, keep up to 90% of the profit, then grow through the scaling plan up to $1,000,000.

Swing account: compare the three evaluations

Challenge Phases Profit Target Max Drawdown Daily Loss Limit Min Trading Days Profit Split
Standard 2 phase 10% then 5% 10% 5% 3 Up to 90%
Rapid 2 phase 8% then 5% 8% 5% 0 Up to 90%
Ace 1 phase 10% 6% 3% 3 Up to 90%

All three allow weekend holding, so any of them works for a swing strategy. Standard gives the widest drawdown, which suits wider swing stops. Rapid has no minimum trading days, useful if your setups are infrequent. Whichever you pass, the funded account you receive is a Simulated Funded Account with the same holding rules and profit split.

What swing traders need to know before they hold

Holding a position across the weekend is allowed, and swaps apply for each night the position stays open. Because the drawdown is static and balance based, an unrealised loss on a multi-day position is measured against your starting balance, not against a trailing high-water mark. The daily loss limit resets at 5 PM EST based on the previous day’s closing balance.

Two rules matter most for a swing strategy. First, gap trading is prohibited: you may hold an existing position through the weekend, but opening a position specifically to capture the Monday gap is not permitted. Second, on a funded account news trading is restricted: you may not open or close a position from two minutes before to two minutes after a high-impact news release. A position you opened at least two minutes earlier may stay open through the release, which is what most swing positions do.

Frequently asked questions

What is a swing trading funded account?

A swing trading funded account is a Simulated Funded Account that permits overnight and weekend holding, so positions can run for days rather than closing intraday. You unlock it by passing one of three evaluations, then trade an account funded from $5,000 up to $200,000 in live market conditions, keeping up to 90% of the profit you generate.

Can I hold positions over the weekend?

You are allowed to hold positions overnight and over the weekend; however, swaps will apply. There is no time limit on your account, so a swing position can stay open as long as your strategy requires.

Is gap trading allowed on a swing account?

No. Gap trading is a prohibited strategy. You may hold an existing position through the weekend, but opening a position specifically to capture the Monday opening gap is not permitted.

Can I hold a swing position through a news release?

On a funded account, you may not open or close a position from two minutes before to two minutes after a high-impact news release. A position opened at least two minutes before the release may remain open through it, so an existing swing position is not forced to close.

Does an open multi-day position affect my drawdown?

Your drawdown is static and balance based, set at open, and it never trails. A profitable day does not tighten your limit, and an unrealised loss on an open position is measured against your starting balance.

Which challenge suits a swing trader?

All three permit weekend holding. Standard gives the widest drawdown at 10%, which suits wider swing stops. Rapid has no minimum trading days, useful if your setups are infrequent. Ace is the single-phase route with the tightest limits.

Is a swing account a demo or a real account?

All accounts, including challenges and funded accounts, are simulated demo accounts traded in a live market environment with real prices and execution. The payouts you earn are real, based on your simulated performance, with a profit split up to 90%.

Do I trade the firm’s capital on a swing account?

No. Because the accounts are simulated, you do not trade the firm’s capital and there is no capital risk to you beyond the refundable evaluation fee. You prove your skill on a simulated account and earn real payouts on the profit you generate.

How much does a swing account cost?

You pay a one time evaluation fee to enter your chosen challenge. It is fully refundable, reimbursed with your first payout once you become funded.

Can I use Expert Advisor (EA)?

Yes, Expert Advisors (EAs) are permitted for trading.

What trading platform does NextGen Funding use?

NextGen Funding runs on MetaTrader 5 (MT5), which we license directly. Trading on MT5 is one of the advantages of NextGen Funding, the prop firm backed by Errante.

Is NextGen Funding a legit prop firm?

NextGen Funding is backed by Errante, a globally trusted multi regulated broker, and provides simulated trading accounts and educational tools in a live market environment with real payouts.

How fast are payouts on a swing account?

Payout requests are processed within 24 to 48 hours of submission, which is among the fastest in the prop trading industry.
